Do you want to create a database of all your music files? You can easily do so with the Kroll Software-developed application MP3db. What this application does is scan your hard drive(s) and other storage devices in search of music files. Once it find the music files, MP3db reads the embedded meta information (title, artist, album, and so on) and creates a database.

Why would you bother with MP3db? The answer is quite simple; it puts the search capabilities of a database program at your fingertips, allowing you to find a title in seconds and enqueue or play it in your audio player of choice.

I am sure you will like the functionality this application provides. I am also sure you will like other aspects of this application. Like the fact that the download weighs in at little over 2MB. At such a lightweight download size, it should only take a moment to get the application off the web and onto your computer. Not having to wait a long time for a download to complete is always nice.

Once you have downloaded MP3db, it is time to install it. This is a straightforward process that doesn’t take long either. MP3db is meant to be used on top of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. Here’s the part you will like: once installed, MP3db can be used free of charge for as long as you want. That’s because MP3db is freeware.

Last but not least, you are definitely going to like the fact that MP3db is very easy to use. This application should not pose a problem to the novice computer user.

The bottom line is that MP3db is a free, easy to use and powerful application that allows you to organize your music files in a database.

Pros
  • Fast scanning
  • Mixed archiving from your hard disk and removable media
  • Sorting, grouping and filtering
  • Multi-tag editor
  • Freeware

Cons
  • None that I could think of
