The MP3db installation file is little over 3MB in size, which is not much. It will take but a moment to get this file onto your machine. Installing the application is a straightforward process that doesn’t take long either. Guided by a setup wizard, you will get to install the application in English or German on top of any Windows edition from Windows 2000 up to Windows 8.

Launch MP3db for the first time and it will ask you to choose the database location, specify the MP3 search paths, and pick the folders you want to exclude from the search. Then it will perform a search, identify your audio tracks, and display them as a list on the pane in the left hand side of its interface. To the right there’s a pane that features player and volume controls. It’s a nice looking layout that you will enjoy using.

MP3db scans your hard drive(s) and other storage devices in search of music files. Once it finds the music files, MP3db reads the embedded meta information (title, artist, album, and so on) and creates a database. From the MP3db interface, you can manage your collection of music, play audio tracks, set it so a track is endlessly repeated, edit a track’s tags, find and remove duplicates, and more. For a lengthy period of 60 days you can use MP3db for free and uncover all the functionality it has to offer.
